NewsFormer Lieutenant Governor Tologonov dies at 69
Daniyar Tologonov, Lieutenant Governor from 2007 until last month, died after a fall from the window of his flat; the city prosecutor's office says it has found no sign that anyone else was involved.
TALAS — Daniyar Tologonov, the first Lieutenant Governor of the Irad Special Economic Zone, died in Talas on Monday after a fall from the window of his flat. He was 69. The city prosecutor's office said yesterday that its inquiry had found no sign that anyone else was involved and that it was treating the death as a suicide.
Mr. Tologonov, a former DPI territorial senator, was appointed Lieutenant Governor under the emergency administration in 2007 and was elected on Governor Erlan Toktarov's ticket in 2011 and 2015. Reports of a falling-out with the Governor first appeared in 2017, and in September the party named Aidar Maksat as Mr. Toktarov's running mate. Mr. Tologonov left office when Mr. Maksat was sworn in on 25 November.
The governorate expressed its condolences to the family. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
