SportHippodrome entertainment rights go to Jarysh group for seven years, without a tender
The National Equestrian Sports Directorate has given Nurlan Baisalov's company the right to run bars, concerts and Saturday-night events at the State Hippodrome.
TALAS — The National Equestrian Sports Directorate has awarded a seven-year concession for entertainment at the Irad State Hippodrome to Jarysh Entertainment Group, the company behind the jarysh.com horse games website, without a public tender.
Under the agreement Jarysh will run the beer decks, the stage and the VIP boxes on league Saturdays and keep the bar and ticket revenue above a fixed fee to the Directorate. The company's founder, the former nightclub promoter Nurlan Baisalov, said the first "Aigyr Ulak Nights", sponsored by the Kara-Bulak brewer, would open the autumn season.
A Directorate spokesman said a tender had not been needed because no other company had applied. Two opposition councillors in Talas called the award "a gift" and asked for the contract to be published. The Directorate said it was commercially confidential.
