BusinessKöch to stay online, free
Former staff of Kuble Soft will keep the closed company's website running and give its programs away.
TALAS — Former employees of Kuble Soft, the Talas software company that stopped trading at the end of last year, said on Monday that they would keep its website online at their own expense and make its surviving programs free to download.
The site will move from the company's address in the .ir.ad zone to a new generic address, kublesoft.net, because the company that registered the old one no longer exists. It will keep its 1990s look and its visitor counter, which has been running since November 1996.
"It is the only museum the company will have," said one of the former programmers, who now works at Attelkom. "Somebody in Chicago still writes every month to ask for the third edition of Köch. Now he can have it."
The programs will be offered as they are, without support. The former staff said they had not been able to recover the riding game Ulak!, whose master disks were lost in June.
